Cherlyn Tan is a professional makeup artist for CL Makeup Artistry and set up her company CL Makeup Artistry. Prior to this, Cherlyn works as a makeup artist trainer in well-known makeup academy. From training and coaching professional student to a regular backstage makeup artist for several fashion shows, fashion shoots and beauty pageants for Miss Malaysia, Miss Chinese Cosmo South East Asia and Miss International Tourism. At present, we have worked together on numerous projects from photo shoots to weddings, without further ado, i present Cherlyn Tan's inaugural post for Delicate Details.

Hello Delicate Details bloggers!
I am so excited to be Delicate Details’ guest blogger of the month. I would like to share with you the current color trend of this year, Monaco Blue. Monaco Blue has been named one of the hottest colors for Spring 2013.

How do I feel about this color? I love the color! It represents the royalty blue and status. With its darker tone side, it is perfect to create a classy slimming effect dress and even for makeup. But what is the best way to wear Monaco Blue on your eyes without looking OTT? Blue eye makeup can look very '80s if you are not careful with the application.

For those who are minimalist, you may go for Monaco blue liquid or eyeliner pencil. Monaco Blue color is meant to be bold. So wear it like you mean it and be confident! Focus one color and avoid the eye shadow all together. With the right application technique, it will look flattering on everyone as it brightened up your eyes especially when you wear it as eyeliner.

However, if you love the dramatic effect, keep the rest of the face clean, blusher and lips color to a minimum, otherwise you will lose that sharpness in color. Add gold or off white eye shadow (as lighter shade) at the front of the eye area to brighten up the eye. A black eye shadow may be added at the tail of the eyes to give depth into the eye socket. Then use black liner to define and pencil for bottom liner as well. The black eyeliner will frame your eyes in a beautiful classic way and support the Monaco Blue on your eyes in a modern way. For more high fashion look, you may put on Turquoise color in between the lighter shade and Monaco blue.
